Azcona Harvesting was started in 1987 by Nick and Pier Azcona. The company started with a few crews doing mostly harvesting, hoeing and thinning of row crops. There are now approximately 40 crews with an average of 4,000 employees working on an annual basis. The activities have expanded to hoeing, thinning, harvesting and shed packing.
In 1991 Nick and Pier decided to enter into vineyard work because of the growing need for labor service. Azcona Harvesting is currently providing many services for vineyards in Monterey, San Luis Obispo and San Benito counties. Some of the vineyard services being provided are staking, planting, wire hanging, tying, grafting, pruning, weeding, suckering and harvesting.
