The Monterey County Hospitality Association is the trade association for hospitality related businesses in Monterey County. The primary goals of MCHA are to foster and protect the hospitality industry and to educate its employees and the community about hospitality related concerns. MCHA has an active governmental affairs committee, with a paid governmental affairs director, who monitors hospitality-related issues locally, regionally and federally. In addition, the education committee offers free seminars to MCHA members, a video training libary and scholarship opportunities. The Community Relations committee works diligently to open the lines of communication between the community, employees and the hospitality industry. MCHA also actively supports the growth of eco-tourism in Monterey County. Membership in MCHA is essential for any business whose livelihood is based on tourism.
