The Monterey Symphony has been a leading force of the arts, culture and social scene in our region for over 65 years. Throughout the Monterey Symphony’s season, which runs from October through June of each year, there are countless ways for you to participate.

The core business of the Monterey Symphony is to present significant works of the traditional repertoire as well as less familiar works by major composers and works written by composers of our time. Music Director and Conductor Max Bragado-Darman does exactly that with 21 subscription concerts each season with performances at Sunset Center, Carmel and at the Steinbeck Institute of Art and Culture, Salinas.

The Monterey Symphony also presents holiday concerts and conducts an education program entitled Music in the Schools which consists of in-school demonstrations and youth concerts specifically designed for fourth and fifth graders.

As a non-profit 501(c)(3), the Monterey Symphony relies heavily on individual support. The organization conducts two major benefits each year to include a season opening gala in the fall and Derby Day the first Saturday in May as well as smaller recitals and salons to assist with its fundraising needs. These events provide the perfect opportunity for MCVGA members to showcase wines!
