Taste Monterey Wine Country at the 19th Annual Winemakers’ Celebration on August 13, 2011, at The Barnyard Shopping Village in Carmel. The Monterey County Vintners & Growers Association (MCVGA) will bring together over 40 wineries to pour roughly 200 wines at the outdoor summer festival.

The Winemakers’ Celebration festivities will include: culinary samples from international restaurants located in the Barnyard Shopping Village; jazz music in the shopping square; winemaking displays, and the bidding excitement of the Silent Auction. Featured wineries and restaurants will also be offering guests special promotions and pricing to be enjoyed the day of the celebration and beyond.

40 winemakers will be on hand to meet guests, pour their wines, and answer questions about winemaking. A sampling of a few of the winemakers who will be in attendance is below:

New in 2011: Take home wine purchases will be available the day of the event. Eco friendly 6-pack wine bags will be provided to guests, with purchase.

Traveling? For your convenience, UPS will be on hand to make shipping an option.

TRANSPORTATIONInsider Tip:  Looking for a convenient transportation option to the event?  Take the convenient 17 passenger mini-bus, operated by Monterey Salinas Transit (MST).  There are transportation lines that travels from downtown Carmel and downtown Monterey directly to the Barnyard, after a couple of brief stops.  Please refer to Line 4 and Line 24 bus schedules listed below.  The fare is $1 each way (50 cents if you are 65 or older or have a disability).
