Talking Animals Music and Folktale Winery & Vineyards present “Under the Influence of Tom Petty” on Wednesday, December 13th!
Featuring: Casey Frazier, Taylor Rae, Linda Arceo Music, Vincent James Randazzo, Austin Metreyeon, Mark Governor, Jesse DeCarlo, Fergus Music, Erica Wobbles, Nat Shuirman, Jessie Lillie Lemon, plus special guests!
This concert, produced by Mark Governor as part of his popular concert series, will feature local artists performing their unique unplugged covers of favorite Tom Petty tunes, alongside original songs inspired by the iconic singer/songwriter. Then they will join together as a full rock ensemble with special guests to perform new arrangements of Tom Petty classics.
With his distinctive voice and chiming guitar, Tom Petty and his band The Heartbreakers had a string of hits across the decades, starting in the 70s with “Breakdown” and “American Girl” to the 80s with “Refugee” and “Stop Dragging My Heart Around” to the 90s with “Free Fallin’” and “Learning to Fly.” He collaborated with music legends Bob Dylan, George Harrison, Jeff Lynne and Roy Orbison to form The Traveling Wilburys to enter another decade of songs with smart incisive lyrics and an instantly recognizable sound. He carved out a niche as one of rock’s most beloved figures, respected by both peers and fans. “Music, as far as I have seen in the world is the only real magic I know,” he said just before his recent death. In that spirit, we honor his memory with a joyful tribute to him and his music.
Chef Todd Fisher and his culinary team will be cooking up some tasty, seasonally-inspired cuisine available for purchase. Wine, beer, and soda will be available.
