The Coffis Brothers, The Hashknife Outfit, and Tom VandenAvond will be taking the stage at Folktale Winery and Vineyard’s Barrel Room on Thursday, August 10th, from 6pm – 9pm, for the next installment of the Live in the Vines Concert Series presented by KRML and Folktale Winery.
The Coffis Brothers & The Mountain Men are a rootsy rock n’ roll band born and raised in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Songwriters Jamie and Kellen Coffis blend folk, blues, R&B, and straight-ahead rock that are evidence of an upbringing spent listening to all of the right records from Tom Petty, Neil Young, and The Beatles. Their second full-length album, “Wrong Side of The Road,” was recorded at Gadgetbox Studios in Santa Cruz with engineer and producer Andy Zenczak and features contributions from friends of the band like Jim Lewin, Ryan Avellone, and jazz vocalist Tammi Brown. Jamie and Kellen will be joined by Kyle Poppen on lead guitar, Aidan Collins on bass, and Henry Chadwick on drums.
Opening for The Coffis Brothers is The Hashknife Outfit and Tom VandenAvond. The Hashknife Outfit will be bringing their bluegrass/roots/Americana sound to the Barrel Room for the first time.
Tom VandenAvond is said to be “part John Prine with a bit of Mark Twain” whose “wisdom in his music exceeds his years.” Some of his work includes “You Oughta Know Me By Now,” which features touring legends Larry and His Flask and he has also contributed to the Independent Music Award winning “Hiram and Huddie.”
