Join Folktale Winery for the next installment of KTOM’s “Wine Country” Concert Series featuring country music stars Mitchell Tenpenny, Cale Dodds & Travis Denning!
Lifelong Nashville native, Mitchell Tenpenny is one of Nashville’s top emerging songwriters known for his extensive musical talent. He’s been playing guitar since the age of 13 and his talent and dedication to his craft has expanded his repertoire to include many other stringed instruments, the organ, and the drums. Singing both lead and back-up vocals, his unique voice lends credence and believability to a diverse array of genres ranging from rock to country and blues to pop.
His grandmother was industry legend Donna Hilley, who shaped the musical landscape of country music as CEO of Sony/ATV Music Publishing. She exposed him to singers like Brooks & Dunn and Blake Shelton as well as some of the best artists, songwriters, producers, and engineers in the business, including Vince Gill, John Mayer, Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson.
After opening for a variety of influential artists including Smith, Maren Morris (Renegade Revival Run), Jake Owen, Brett Young, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Dustin Lynch, and Gary Allan, he’s now bringing his talents to our Barrel Room stage!
“It captures that ‘us against the world,’ concept,” Cale Dodds says of his debut EP, Wild and Reckless. “The title Wild and Reckless is about that desire for freedom and that endless ambition to fight for something more,” he says, while the album as a whole speaks to young love and its possibilities. “There’s no map…but there is that fire to chase it and try to find it.” Produced by Kyle Jacobs and Matt McClure (Lee Brice), Wild and Reckless was recorded at the renowned Ocean Way Recording Studios.
In addition to laying tracks in Music City, Cale Dodds is making tracks on the road, opening for the likes of Brett Eldredge, Billy Currington, and Sam Hunt. Cale has recently partnered with JustinBoots as “JustinAmerica Country Artist” and with AT&T U-verse for the Country Deep Tour with David Nail.
Born out of Middle Georgia, Travis Denning has been crafting his skills as a musician and as a songwriter for close to 10 years. With a powerful voice and a mature musicianship beyond his years, Travis has proven himself as a must see live performer. MidGaLive.com states, “Definitely, Middle Georgia’s next big export!…This dude is going to be the next Keith Urban…” and with good reason to back it up. Travis made the move to Nashville in January 2014 to pursue his dreams, and within the first year made great steps towards a long career in country music. In November of 2014, Travis signed a publishing deal with RED Creative Group and has also worked alongside and had songs recorded by such artists as Jason Aldean and Justin Moore. When it comes to the music he writes and performs, Travis comments, “I like to think that I sing about everything that is me, and everything I know. I’ve grown up in the South my whole life and everything about it and the things I love shine right through what I write and sing about.”
